A Drip Irrigation automatic watering system is a drip irrigation system that is often used to care for plants and shrubs. It can be set with a timer so that the plants in its vicinity are watered automatically at regular intervals. Not only this is a big help for people who have to be away from home for an extended period of time, it is also crucial to the survival of the plants in particularly hot and dry climates.
The Drip Irrigation system is also capable of providing the proper amount of water needed by plants, and deliver it in the correct time and frequency. Plus, they are also capable of maintaining the correct moisture level in the air is you include a mister nozzle. It is a well known fact that over watering your plants can cause fungus problems that will end up killing the plants. For these reasons, the automatic watering systems are used in many greenhouse environments.
Another benefit of using a Drip Irrigation system is that it keeps the water use to a minimum – up to 70 percent less water than standard sprinklers. There will be no more over spray onto the driveway, or watering areas that don’t really need it just because the sprinkler happens to reach it. Also minimizing inconvenience by operating at night, and of course eliminating the chore of hand watering.
The cost of the Drip Irrigation Automatic Watering System is lower compared to other irrigation systems.
The most economical way of creating an automatic watering system is to use soaker hose or drip emitters and a simple battery operated timer that fits onto the tap or garden faucet. For those who are not familiar with gardening term, soaker hose; it is a porous hose that allow water to trickle out throughout its length. Just place the hoses under the mulch and about six inches from the base of your plants.
Some watering tips:
* Lawns need about 1 inch of water each week. If the weather is very hot, apply an inch of water about every 3 days.
* Watering to a depth of 4-6 inches encourages deeper, healthier root development. It allows longer periods between watering.
* Stop watering when you notice water running off the lawn.
* Early morning or night is the best time for watering to reduce evaporation.
